Things You Should Know About The School Before You Make Any Decision

We as a parent often have a lot of second thoughts on our choices we make for the children. One of the major decision you as a parent will make, next to having the kid is deciding which school to enrol them in. Your thoughts will spread before you a multitude of options. But what is essential is how you will narrow them down to the best, the one school.

Making the right choice is essential. You are putting your child in a path of learning, a learning that imbibes values, ethics and promotes healthy atmosphere for nourishing the kid’s thinking. This school will probably lay foundation to his/her future prestigious college education, a life long learning and a strong sense of thought coupled with the ideas of the intellectual mind. Because, learning is not merely limited to academics, but also a path to effectively deal with the challenges of the real world.

The role of school

Some of the best International schools in Bangalore are committed to delivering their promise of enlightening the child’s future, by appropriately laying the foundation of learning. The CBSE schools in Bangalore drive their inspiration from the many successful alumni they have churned out. Their success is a testimony to the importance of school in the child’s future. As a parent wouldn’t you want to be hundred percent certain that you are making the right choice for your child? Well, here is how we can help you decide the parameters of a good school.

The essentials: What should your child’s school have?

School is probably where your child will spend most of his/her formative years. Giving them the right direction initially then becomes a prerequisite. Check out these when you decide on a school.

Go by achievement: Observe the amount of effort the school has put in terms of academic and non-academic areas for the child. The school should have generated a fair number of laurels in sports and extra curriculars as well as on the academic. Depriving your child of any co-curricular activities will be equal to punishing them. Look out of the school has a good play area and sports ground. Haven’t we heard ‘all work and no play make Jack a dull boy’?

Hygiene and cleanliness: This is an absolute essential. Your child will have to grow up in hygienic conditions that will foster a healthy learning experience. You do not want to see your child fall sick quite often. See if the toilets are clean and look out for some staff who can help the tiny tot in case he/she is feeling helpless.

Student-teacher ratio: The ideal student-teacher ratio would be one teacher for every 30 students. Up to 30 students is manageable and after that it is only chaos with no proper attention given to all. The teacher should foster a good rapport with the students and the students should feel comfortable talking to the teacher. In the absence of this, the child is only a passive listener in the class and will not really learn anything.

Timing: Ensure it is a good time for your child to start his/her school. Also ensure that they are strict about this, because it is a matter of discipline and punctuality. If it is a play school that you are looking for, five hours of it would be ideal.

Transport: How is your child going to commute daily? If you are looking for options, always choose the school transport. They are most often punctual and safe. Therefore, check for the transport facility, unless you are going to pick and drop your child daily.

Finally…
Ensure safety of your child in school. When you see your kid happy about going to school, be sure you have made the right choice. Schools should be their second home and if they do not feel the same, it is going to hamper their studies and personality as well. Schools have a bigger role to shape the future of the child. None of this will be possible without the ‘right’ choice. 1
