Hi, My name is Bala Gorthi and father of Tanvi Gorthi my daughter
had graduated from the PYP to them, but we program One of the things that we
had to make a decision remote from us to Bangalore was the choice of schools obviously
the many education factories in India and you know choosing the right
environment for our kids was a priority and Choosing Oakridge I mean come some
of the things that make it easy is obviously the infrastructure like things
like transport to school hygiene at School Food at school, and you know
cleanliness. It's cool those are kind of the underlying things that very
important so that You know it's it's it's you're comfortable with Dana and they
are sending them to a safe place So that was obviously a shoo-in for okish It's
very easy, and then a good place to send your kids but in the higher level of
things you know the quality of education that were crystallites, or you know
the kind of incentives and Incentives to learn that the kids have and how do
they react to knowledge those are the things that make Oakridge unique? Obviously,
Oakridge has a unique distinction of being an education institution and not you
know a lot like a lot of other schools over buildings Because they have land or
they have you know [have] infrastructure and hence this school brokerages is an
educational institution for most Right and that makes a big difference in the
attitude of people Connecting the classes in and out Or touch on a couple of
themes Raleigh starting with you know what we think about education in token To
the kind of effects that it has had on my kids, and I want to just highlight a
few points that have observed No, I firmly believe that knowledge is Just the
beginning and not a destination because I grew up in the school system where in
a knowledge was about understanding learning and assimilating it and if You
have the right environment applying it Oakridge turns the paradigm around and
idea here is you Learn to use Knowledge we learnt What you? Observe every day
into the process of learning and that makes a big difference because what it
does to my kids is They're not looking to learn some blind formulas or an
equation and trying to put that out on a paper in exam rather They're trying to
understand how the world works and you know why it works and what doesn't work
and how could the salt problem this? I think is going to make a big difference
as they grow up because where we are a lot of people will have two three four
carriers in their lifetime and Knowing how to solve a problem will [be] more
important than you know just solving it blindly or having a process I think
that this this paradigm helps in a growing and changing times Right and that
that's where I think Oakridge helps quite a lot much in The other thing is you
know as we move to India one of the key things for us was of course family There's
a lot of family and they know closer to family that really helps and that was a
priority and the other priority was I wanted to give my kids a sense of
appreciation of how well they are and all the things that They have is then
getting their privilege and you know it's a by it's a given and that's where
I'm trying to give them a sense of you know appreciate what you have and Learn
to be thankful to that now as a part of the extracurricular activities the
school connects my daughter had gone to one of the camps where they met a lot
of kids from Rural schools And other things that she came back with was the
first thing she got down when she came back. She said, thank you Thank you for
all the privilege I have I appreciate it, and I'm really grateful for that and
that in itself was enough for me because I said hey I got [exactly] what no I
sent you for the trip truth to understand appreciate what you have and then she
went down talked about how smart the kids are there where how? how much more Innovative
they were there in schools from this schools which were not Heavily funded but
and she came back an appreciation of the world around and said you know I know
what i have and I know how I'm using it there other smarter people are there And
they're doing better with the little they have now that made a big difference
to me. I was thinking well. She's all learned How well off g's in terms of
watch is getting and two She has now learned to appreciate other people who are
smarter than her and that I thought it was a unique learning for her So in
effect as I said the school choice is obvious for us it's good with school and
like I said I have two kids here and it's been a very beautiful right for the
soFa and What kids are getting out of the education that they're getting is
something. I really appreciate and About the nature of the process of things at
the school. I think it's a learning organization what I mean that Feedback is
constantly taken and the good part is that feedback is applied and you can see
the effect of what you said a week ago Ten days ago to be assimilated and used
on a daily basis and obeyed technology email lots Have any different things
that are changing the nature of interaction are constantly used and implemented
