Quite
too often it seems like students feel as though they can dream big and then
things will just fall into place, according to what they dream. We have read many
success stories about how much money Yahoo is paying for Tumbler and how Mark
Zuckerberg the man who started Facebook, the social media site is a
gazillionare. However, what we miss amidst the message that comes across us, is
that dreams don’t work unless we work for it day and night. We surely know that
Mark Zuckerberg made it to the top but what we don’t realise is that he has had
to put so much effort into this entire process of finally achieving what he
dreamt and has accomplished it today.
The
point behind all these success stories is not at all that these people dreamed
big. They did dream big, but what is not talked about is the countless hours,
days, months, and years of work put in behind the scenes. Before they were big,
they were dreamers. But they were hard-working dreamers who made their dreams a
reality.
There
are several other examples that could be cited to prove my point like, APJ
Abdul Kalam, who dreamed of changing the lives of people through his work and
became a great scientist of NASA. But on his path to creating something big, he
gave up on his family life, on many other social aspirations that we often pine
for when in isolation, but little do we realize that only dreaming big doesn’t
help us by pushing us closer to our goals, it just provides a path. Now it is
we who would decide if the path presented before us is something we choose to
follow or not.
Every
single day, we tend to crib for little things that are not present in our
lives, like a playstation, an iPad, a laptop, a bat, a cycle, etc. etc. but
have we ever taken out time to think about the innumerable and unreasonable
demands we put forth before our parents and blackmail them emotionally to buy
those things for us, do we realise that there are lakhs and millions of below
poverty children who are striving through the harsh conditions of life and
still aiming at the goals of their lives.
These
are the ones who make it big in life, because they not only dream of aspiring
to become a big personality, but they work through their ambitions, fully aware
that they do not have the fancy mode of education to back them, but they have
the zeal to learn, to grow and to make it big.
