The Mind that Controls Everything
Your mind is working at its best when you're
being paranoid. You explore every avenue and possibility of your situation at
high speed with total clarity. As this proverb says human mind have the
capacity to change the world if trained properly. So as we all know it is
always better to start any training at a very young age so that it stays with us
all through our life. It seems, at tender age we have the capability to take up
any hard task as our mind and body will be very flexible. Once you grow up we
develop our own set of boundaries which are very difficult to break.
So let’s talk about mind especially the mind of a
child. Childhood is always supposed to be full of colors and dreams. But not
always this belief is true. If we look around we can see many children going
through various mental struggle and stress. The reason could be many things
like unhealthy family atmosphere, stress at school, wrong friendships, and lack
of care and protection and even in some cases mental diseases. All this can
ruin the entire life of a child and their surroundings if not cured at the
right time.
As responsible parents the first and foremost
thing we shall do is to spend time with our children. This is the medicine for
almost all mental problems. Kids always require attention and in today’s busy
parents just ignore this fact very easily. So I would suggest only one thing,
just go and sit with them, make them comfortable with the complex world, listen
to all their crazy stories and incidents happened during the day, bring clarity
to what they are doing and also make them feel that you are there for him/her
all through their life.
Other than issues at home the problems at school
also affects a kids mind badly. Over burden in school is the major thing all
children are always afraid of. As far as I believe school is the place where a
child will get to know what relations are and how to build new one and
maintain. So school should be an atmosphere where child is comfortable and
happy. Very fortunately in our country there many schools especially best boarding schools in India who
propagate the holistic education where the academic burden is reduced and
children are provided a very healthy atmosphere to nurture.
Schools like Oakridge The international school in Vizag focus
more mental development of a child and for that purpose they have inculcated
experiential learning program to their curriculum. These methods can reduce the
stress and mental struggle of a child but where medical assistance and care is
needed should be made available for a positive result. All these efforts made
are after all for a brighter future.
How to Build the Compassionate Feeling in Children
As
we all know children have the tendency to imitate their elders from a very
young age. This attitude of children can be molded in such a way that we can
make them do everything in a positive manner. But for this purpose elders need
to become their role models. Compassionate feeling is one thing which cannot be
forced but should come from inside either or should get inspired from others.
In the case of children it is the inspiration which makes them to develop the
compassionate feeling towards others.
The
best way to teach children this feeling is through showing compassionate
consideration to other family members. When
someone at home is not well or are tired very much, extend them some care and
make them feel comfortable. This scene will stay in the mind of the kid and in
any other occasion when they go through the same situation, children will try
to repeat what u did. Because the act of kindness make people feel good inside
both the receiver and the giver.
Another
possible way to teach kids compassionate feeling is to have pets at home. The
way we feed them, the way we clean them and make them comfortable etc creates a
positive image in the mind of the child to be nice and kind to those who are
not privileged like them. This also
teaches them the beauty of non verbal communication and the feeling of
affection.
Though
parents can teach the basics of those feeling the major part comes from
teachers and others at school where the children spend most of their time. At
home children learn to show love and respect to their own people. But it is in
school they learn to have the same feeling for strangers. So schools play a key
role here and fortunately in our country there are top schools in Bangalore who fulfill the function by proper guidance.
For
example Oakridge international school
in Bangalore stand ahead among other schools in better quality education at
the same time overall development of the child. So in school children need to
be taught the compassionate feeling towards friends and others while playing,
working together, debating, discussing and studying.
Each
time we take a moment include our children in the process of giving to others
and showing compassion to others, they learn valuable lesions about kindness
and empathy that will stay with them for the rest of their life.
How far Culture can Influence a Child’s Life
It is said that ‘people without the knowledge of their past
history, origin and culture is like a tree without roots.’ Culture is one thing
that we always cling to from our ancestor’s time. Particularly in a country
like India where culture plays the major role, the influence of it in all our
surroundings are inevitable. India is known for its cultural diversity in the
world. Within the existing 28 states we follow hundreds of different culture in
each remote corners of the country. Even after all of these we still stay
united and I believe that is the power of culture we are following.
To instill the idea of particular culture in a child is very
vital as they go out and meet people who belong to some other set of culture
and beliefs. So it is always advisable to mold our own culture inculcating all
the positives from other cultures. Culture is often misunderstood with religion
in our country. Culture the life style, thinking and way of living of person.
It gives us the flavor in life which is required to maintain the color, beauty,
ambition and flow of life.
Attributes associated with culture has to be encouraged at a
very young so that it can grow along with the kid by getting positively
influences by their surroundings. When it comes to education, cultural
tendencies impact the way children participate in the learning process. The
basics of culture should always as we all know, come from home. The feelings of
discipline, respect to elders, compassionate feeling for others and love and
affection are all part of the culture and tradition we follow. So as elders it is
our responsibility to teach our young generation the significance of culture
and the best possible way is to be their role. This will inspire them to follow
the good aspects in our culture.
Schools are second home to children and here they learn the
basic principles of life. While being with friends and others, a child can
learn about various other traditions and slowly adopt them to their own
culture. I believe teachers can play a vital role here to make them understand
the value of our tradition and culture and the benefits of following it.
Luckily there are many schools in
Bangalore who propagate this message.
Schools like Oakridge biggest
international school in Bangalore provide holistic education and inculcate
the right messages of culture into the understanding of the students. As Gandhi
said “A nation's culture resides in the hearts and in the soul of its people.”
