Be Their Role Model

“I am scared to go in front of my dad, My mom never listens to me, I love to be with my Grandpa than my parents, I miss my dad every time when I see my friends with their parents”. May be in our busy schedule these words do not mean anything because we have neither time nor patients to listen to it. And at the end of the day we end up saying that all these sacrifice is for my children’s brighter future. But before proceeding, just pause for while turn around and see; you can see the spoiled childhood of your kid. In the fast moving, commercialized world we are missing out many things like human and social values. Home is considered as the small form of society where the future is getting molded and parents are the strong pillars on which the future is being constructed.

The concerns which we discussed in the beginning are normally from those kids who have strict atmosphere at home, 365days busy parents or sometimes single parent etc. If we see it from an outer perspective, these are normal avoidable things but it is deep rooted from inside the minds of a child who go through this stigma. So what could be done?

The crucial concern has to be the way one behaves with their children. The young ones always learn from their parents and if we could illustrate them the basic behavioral manners and follow them all in our own life it becomes easy for the kids to understand and follow. If we make them comfortable by friendly approach and curious attitude to listen to them, it calms down the anxiety in the mind of the child regarding the complexities outside.

Some parents have the friendly approach even though they lack the flair of dealing with the kid. Because not all of us are born with these talents but we can enhance them from outside. Luckily at present there are many schools especially International schools in India, who provide counseling and classes to parents through various workshops concerning these affairs. Teachers can help out parents easily as they are spending more time with the kids. The metropolitan cities in our country majorly go through this stigma due to its fast life, may be as a result there aroused many international schools in Bangalore, Hyderabad, and Chennai etc with outstanding academics to children and excellent coaching to parents to deal with them.

The Third Generation

Groucho Marx says “I find television very educating. Every time somebody turns on the set, I go into the other room and read a book.” In 21st century’s context this statement is absolutely perfect as the influence of visual media is on the peak. It has become a part of life or may be more than that.

The overflow of technology could be the main reason behind it. And if the influence on elders is like this then there is a lot to worry when it comes to children as they love to imitate us. As Newton said, “every action has an equal and opposite reaction”, this social scenario also will have reactions either positive or negative and in the curious case of media influence there aroused certain negative reactions too. The distance between people and books got increased. Though there are many digitalized books these days, very few prefer them. These phenomenons will slowly leading to a generation who does not have the strength of imagination and thinking as they are becoming mere couch potatoes.

For our previous generation reading was a daily activity which goes along with their routine. Their days were incomplete without a newspaper. But situation and technology changed and accordingly habits also changed as people started lacking time to sit at a place and spend some time for reading. Especially when it comes to our young age group most of them prefer social networking sites rather than a book. Should we let this happen or try to bring in the old method will be based on the level of intellectual and quality output given by each individual in various spheres. If the rating is very low, there has to instant procedures to improve the situation.

Schools can play a key role here through various new methodologies to inculcate interest towards reading in students. If we consider boarding schools as an example, the extra hours available after regular class timings are more. These precious times can be dedicated to reading and related intellectual analysis. If we look around, there many boarding schools in India, develop such programs to inculcate in children the importance and interest of reading.

Fortunately these days we can see many international schools in India coming up with advanced curriculum which understands the significance of analytical thinking and importance creating interest towards reading in students. Being influenced by any media is not harm until it becomes a social stigma. Technological developments should implement ways which retain the good habits from past.

How to Make Children Mind Without Losing Ours

“He became very problematic these days, not listening to any of the family members, always into fight with her sister, not eating food and is throwing it in dump, when I am not noticing”, etc are the complaints arising from our mothers on a daily basis. There could be many more complaints coming in this list if we keep on counting. But one single question needs to be answered by all mothers that “have you ever inquired about why your child is becoming a problem child?”

If we think of a general or single reason for their undisciplined behavior, it’s difficult because every undisciplined act from child is due to different reasons in different occasions. The only possible way out is continuous monitoring from parents and elders without disturbing their personal freedom as a child.
One of the main motives for a child to misbehave could be the eagerness to know about their limits or boundaries kept by their parents. To experiment this things and know more about their individual freedom, in each level they try to test our patients. But for this reason rather becoming red eyed, we could simply make them understand basic discipline and rules. In many cases over imposing of certain rules leads to the worse situation and the child feel burdened and irritated. Instead of commanding be very pleasant with children and make them understand rules and regulations with daily life examples and you can see the drastic difference by yourself.

Other than these common signs - illness, boring atmosphere, sibling rivalry, and academic troubles all cause for a problem child behavior. So observing kids carefully in a very friendly and joyful manner is the best possible way for any parent to calm the condition. A key role can be played by the teachers and schools in molding a child with appropriate discipline and manners. If we take our country as an example, there are many international schools in India who give as much importance to personality developments as academics.

Especially in metro cities like Hyderabad the call for international schools are increasing as the parent seems to be occupied and may be because of this number of international schools in Hyderabad is growing with positive learning method to lighten the burden of studies.Children require attention all the time and if they are getting it from all sources like family, school, teachers, friends etc then we should not worry much about their behavior as they love to imitate elders.

Health and Kids in International Schools

Buddha says “To keep the body in good health is a duty otherwise we shall not be able to keep our mind strong and clear.” If one needs to be healthy all through life they should possess some good habits which have to be acquired from childhood. And most of these kind of habits we begin from our family and school.
The basic understanding in a toddler about being healthy comes from his/her mother and the family circumstances. But the better perceptive of it comes when they start going to school and while interacting with friends and teachers. So educational institution play a major role in molding the child’s physical, mental and social attributes.

Good health is often associated with good eating habits and cleanliness. If we look at the young generation, most of the kids are obese and are often diagnosed with diabetics, cholesterol, heart diseases and so on due to their unrestrained eating practice and lack of appropriate exercise. In India we can see the intense influence of western culture is making our young ones go for instant junk foods which is leading them to enormous health hazards. Before it all go ahead to massive disaster, there should be some serious measures taken to avoid the situation.

As part of it, the first initiation needs to come from educational institutions through various methods. Fortunately in our country there are many international schools coming up with better quality education along with personal developments of a child. In our country especially in places like Bangalore, where there is huge influence of western culture, the requirement of such schools are increasing gradually. And now there are many International Schools in Bangalore like Oakridge International offer personal and physical augmentation of children.

They have made physical education as part of their curriculum and provide various activities which include body exercise. Not only exercise, but they organize many workshops and events to make kids understand the importance of health and how we can protect ourselves from diseases and how to be active through better health and so on. Other than International Schools there are en number of schools in Bangalore who propagate the message of good health and habits in children. A better health leads to a better tomorrow. A healthy young generation can promise flourishing future.

Why Boarding Schools in India

Home ought to be our clearing house from where we go forth lessoned and disciplined. School is considered to be the second home where we get ready for life. In some cases both home and school are brought together to produce the future citizens who are conscious about duties and responsibilities of their life and other’s as well. Boarding schools in India have taken this step for building brighter future.Boarding schools in India with international standards are considered to be the apt place for the overall growth of a child as they are spending their entire time in the school and premises under guidance. Their mentors get the opportunity to monitor each child vigilantly and do all the needful for them. The study hours available to students in a boarding school is higher than a day scholar as the afterhours of regular classes turn out to be potential time for them. And the most important quality a student posses from being a boarding school is self sufficiency.

It becomes easier to understand if we go along with a proper exemplar like Oakridge International Boarding School Vizag. The school is considered to be the best international school in Vizag in academics and non academic activities of its students. The school is located in place like Vishakhapatnam which is known as the City of Destiny and is one of the largest seaports and India’s oldest shipyard. Oakridge International Boarding school is made keeping the aura of the place and is the finest place to live. Not only the infrastructure but the curriculum they offer is also outstanding. They follow internationally recognized CIE (Cambridge International Examinations) and national syllabus of CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education).

Apart from the academic peculiarities, the school concentrates on the other parts like personality development, extracurricular activities, organizing and planning skills etc. There are international students on board which facilitate cultural exchange among children through various camps for students, field trips etc. with the motto of providing holistic education to their students.

Since education is all about building the blocks for future, there need to be proper manufacturing units, which are our schools, who make best blocks for a strong foundation. And fortunately we have such good quality international schools in India who fulfill their responsibility in a perfect manner.
